Besides being at a reasonable price, this gymnastics bar has several attributes that I like. Being a retired school teacher, I see great value in the usefulness of this equipment. It is constructed of durably painted 1 inch steel tubing and some tubing is chrome plated. When this set is expanded, the footprint is sturdy utilizing effective, stabilizing angles and rubber feet to help it not slip. The hardware slides together easily, only needing maybe an occassional bump with the palm, or twist to slide the bars together. I will be using my set on carpet. When assembled, it easily folds to where it can store along a wall to taking up minimal space. As far as strength, I laid on my back, collapsed the top rail to the lowest setting, and did slanted pullups. I am over 200 pounds, and it held my weight doing this just fine. I would not recommend adults do pullups or chinups though from a dead weight though since this is designed for young children. I would not use this outside either even with the good coat of paint it has. I don’t plan on allowing children doing any dramatic spins around the bar either, just normal shoulder toning/strengthening exercises. Since this is lightweight and does not have a substantial footprint (56×38 inch), it could tip over doing anything crazy. If a family has the room, I can easily recommend this for any family. This would be a fun, challenging way to build muscles and be a good activity on rainy days. It could be used in a classroom as a spare activity. Teacher approved/ affordable/ easily earns five stars!
